I'm a graduate student studying creative nonfiction writing at the Inland Northwest Center for Writers at Eastern Washington University. In my writing, I focus mainly on personal essay. My writing has been influenced by writers such as Joan Didion, Nora Ephron, Ann Patchett, and Chuck Klosterman.
In addition to being a student at EWU, I am also an instructor in the Composition department, teaching English 101 and 201 to undergraduate students.
I'm originally from the Midwest. I grew up in Minnesota, attended college in Iowa, and worked for three years in northern Michigan before moving to Spokane, WA for graduate school.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, watching movies, listening to music, baking, and running. I recently ran my first half marathon and look forward to training for more races in the future. I also like experimenting in the kitchen and finding ways to make healthier treats for my family and friends.
